Review of Landal De Strabrechtse Vennen
Last autumn break we left for North Brabant, for a holiday at Landal De Strabrechtse Vennen. De Strabrechtse Vennen is a new holiday park from Landal, in the middle of the nature of North Brabant, near Someren. This holiday park officially opened on 17 May 2024. We stayed in a 6-person holiday home with wood-fired hot tub, type 6ELZ. In this extensive review of Landal De Strabrechtse Vennen we discuss various aspects of the holiday park. General impression of Landal De Strabrechtse Vennen
After a long drive with lots of traffic jams, we arrived at Landal De Strabrechtse Vennen. We were able to park the car in the spacious parking lot without any problems, after which we walked to the new central building. The central building houses the reception, an indoor playground with climbing wall, the park shop, the swimming pool and the restaurant. At the reception we receive the key. New park, old-fashioned approach. But hey, our autumn holiday at the Strabrechtse Vennen can finally begin!
We get back in the car and drive across the holiday park towards our holiday villa. On the way to our booked holiday home, a 6-person villa with hot tub, it quickly becomes clear that this is one of the newest Landal parks. The modern holiday homes look beautiful and are equipped with solar panels and heat pumps. Moreover, they really exude luxury, which promises a lot! However, the park still has to ‘live’, this is mainly because the vegetation is still very young, which makes it feel a bit bare. But hey, that's what you can expect at a holiday park that hasn't even been open for half a year. Curious about our holiday home, we quickly drive on. Our home is located right at the back of De Strabrechtse Vennen.

Accommodations at Landal De Strabrechtse Vennen
There are many different accommodations at Landal de Strabrechtse Vennen to book. From cozy 4-person lodges to luxury 20-person villas. There is a suitable accommodation for everyone.
What immediately stands out is the luxurious, modern design of the holiday homes. The homes are spacious, with large windows that let in lots of light. All homes are built according to the most modern standards and equipped with solar panels and a heat pump.
You can also book extra luxurious holiday villas, which are equipped with a wood-fired hot tub, luxury bubble bath, outdoor kitchen and/or a private swimming pool. How luxurious do you want it! 6-person holiday villa 6ELZ with wood-fired hot tub
We are staying in a 6-person holiday villa with wood-fired hot tub type 6ELZ, number C3. From the villa we have a beautiful view over a field with corn. The holiday home is located on a spacious plot, but otherwise has little privacy. Next to the hot tub are some thick beams that are intended as a separation, and they also provide a bit of privacy when you are in the hot tub. Incidentally, we have never been bothered by this openness around the house, because the holiday homes were right next to us at a reasonable distance and we stayed on the edge of the park. Elsewhere in the park you have less privacy.
We enter the villa and what immediately stands out is that everything is tiptop. You immediately notice that you are dealing with a new holiday home. When you enter, you will find the stairs and a toilet on the right. When you walk straight ahead, you will enter the living room. On the left in the hallway you will find a door with, among other things, the washing machine/dryer combination behind it. At the end of the hallway is a bedroom with a small bathroom. The bathroom has a walk-in shower and a sink with mirror.
We open the door to the living room and walk into the modern open kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with top-quality kitchen appliances from Siemens and has an induction hob and a well-functioning oven with microwave function. Next to the fridge is a French door that is equipped with a fly screen. Great, later it turns out that all doors and windows are equipped with fly screens! Wonderful for the warmer summer months. Between the kitchen and living room is a cozy dining table with 6 chairs on wheels. In the living room is a nice corner sofa and a separate chair. The TV has a built-in Chromecast, perfect for streaming a movie or in our case casting Formula 1 on the TV. The living room itself has 2 patio doors, both also equipped with a mosquito net! Everything feels nice and spacious, nothing to complain about. When you walk outside through the patio doors, you end up on the terrace with dining table, chairs and 2 luxurious loungers.
Next to the terrace is the wood-fired hot tub. What we found a small drawback is that you only get 1 bag of wood to heat the hot tub. During the colder months, you need up to 2 bags to get the hot tub up to temperature. Moreover, if you stay for a week, you will need quite a few bags of wood. You also have to change the water after a day or 2, because a float with chlorine tablets is missing. A bag of wood cost €15 at the reception. Fortunately, there is a Karwei and a Welkoop nearby. Here we bought 4 bags of wood for €21 and a bag of kindling. Last year we stayed at Landal Drentse Lagune, where we were given several bags of wood and a bag of kindling on the first day. In addition, these hot tubs were equipped with a floater with chlorine.
We walk back inside, up the stairs. On the first floor of the holiday villa we find 2 spacious bedrooms. One bedroom has two single beds, the other a double bed. There is also a separate toilet on the first floor opposite the bathroom. The bathroom has a sauna, a bath with whirlpool and a separate shower. In short, everything is there for a wonderfully relaxing holiday!

Swimming pool at Landal De Strabrechtse Vennen
The small swimming pool with a separate toddler pool is located in the central building of Landal De Strabrechtse Vennen. We open the door to the swimming pool with the access pass and end up in a small room with a number of changing rooms. The changing rooms, showers and the swimming pool look very neat. Moreover, the changing rooms were also nice and clean.
The swimming pool is 140 cm deep and suitable for swimming laps. In one corner there is a fountain that occasionally sprays water. In another corner we find a bench with bubbles. Children can splash around and romp in this pool. For small children there is a separate shallow toddler pool next to this pool. There are no play equipment or a slide in this toddler pool.
This indoor swimming pool offers plenty of possibilities but is on the small side during busy times. Fortunately, there is also the recreational lake, where you can swim during the warmer months. The lake is surrounded by a sandy beach, and offers a nice alternative to the indoor pool.

Child-friendliness of holiday park Landal De Strabrechtse Vennen
Next to the central building of Landal De Strabrechtse Vennen is an air trampoline, multifunctional playing field and a small playground. In the playground is a wooden climbing frame with slide, a seesaw and two swings. When I ask my daughter for her opinion, she thinks it is a bit small. I agree with her, there could be more play equipment.
Further on, on the other side of the lake of De Strabrechtse Vennen, there is another water play equipment on the beach. There are also a few children's bungalows on this beach around a small playground. These children's bungalows are fenced and some bungalows have their own trampoline in the garden.
Then there is the small children's playground in the central building of Landal de Strabrechtse Vennen. This is particularly suitable for small children. There is a pool with a slide for toddlers, a climbing and clambering area, suitable for slightly older children. There is also a real climbing wall. My daughter really enjoyed the climbing wall!

Location of Landal De Strabrechtse Vennen
The park is located in the middle of a rural area between fields and meadows. However, there is no direct access to nature; to reach the surrounding nature reserves, you have to take the bike or car. This is in contrast to the adjacent holiday park Roompot De Heihorsten, from that park you can walk straight into the nature of the Somerense Heide.
There are several nature reserves in the area. For example, the Somerense Heide nature reserve is nearby. A little further away is the extensive De Strabrechtse Heide nature reserve, a paradise for nature lovers. The area offers kilometers of hiking and cycling trails, and you can enjoy beautiful heathlands, forests and fens here. After a walk, relax in the Heidecafé for a cup of coffee with cake, a sandwich or a tasty snack.
Landal De Strabrechtse Vennen is only a 20-minute drive from Eindhoven. There are many fun excursions to be made in the area, such as a visit to the Dierenrijk Zoo in Nuenen or the prehistoric village in Eindhoven. With children, a day at Toverland Amusement Park in Sevenum or ZooParc in Overloon is fun to do.

Facilities at Landal De Strabrechtse Vennen
The park has a number of great facilities, so you won't be bored. Next to the central building is the playground with air trampoline. Between the playground and the central building is the multifunctional playing field and the padel courts.
In the central building you will find the indoor playground and climbing wall. Next to the reception is a small park shop with self-scan checkouts. Here you can buy fresh bread rolls for breakfast in your holiday home. The park shop has a small range of groceries, so you don't have to drive straight to the supermarket in Someren if you have forgotten something.
In addition, there is a small swimming pool with a paddling pool in the central building. Opposite the swimming pool is the restaurant, with a terrace on the recreational lake. It is also possible to pick up meals from the restaurant.

Eating places at Landal De Strabrechtse Vennen
The holiday park has an atmospheric restaurant where you can enjoy a varied menu. Special children's menus are available for children. During the warmer months, it is also wonderful to relax on the terrace that is located right on the recreational lake. It is possible to pick up meals and snacks in the restaurant.

If you are looking for a holiday park with luxury holiday homes, then Landal De Strabrechtse Vennen is the right place for you. The new, modern holiday villas are fully equipped. In addition, there are also extra luxurious holiday homes with, for example, a hot tub or private swimming pool to book. De Strabrechtse Vennen offers everything you need for a successful holiday. The park has many different luxury accommodations suitable for 4 to a maximum of 20 people. This makes the holiday park a perfect destination for families, couples, (large) groups of friends and families.
There are plenty of facilities on the park, such as the small swimming pool, the paddle court, restaurant and child-friendly facilities such as a small playground and indoor play area. In addition, the recreational lake offers plenty of opportunities for relaxation during warmer days. But the beautiful luxury holiday homes are the biggest plus point of Landal De Strabrechtse Vennen.
We personally found it a negative point that there were so many cars on the park. This gave a busy and crowded feeling. Perhaps this will improve once the vegetation has increased.
The location of the holiday park is ideal for excursions into nature. If you want to walk, you will need a car, because nature is just a little too far away to reach on foot. From the park you can easily go into nature with your bike or mountain bike. There are several mountain bike routes in the immediate vicinity.
Finally, the area also offers plenty of opportunities for a day out. Think of Toverland amusement park in Sevenum or ZooParc in Overloon. Moreover, Eindhoven is a 20 km drive away. In short, Landal De Strabrechtse Vennen has everything you need for a luxury holiday.
